来る12月13日から15日に、上智大学とICU（国際キリスト教大学）とが共催で、移民二世をテーマに一連のイベントを上智四谷キャンパスにて開催いたします。

日本側の登壇者のオチャンテ・ロサさん、小波津ホセさん、ラファエラ・オリバレスさんは、いずれも親がペルーやブラジルから来日し、ご本人は日本で教育を受けたラテンアメリカ移民二世で、みずからも移民研究を志していらっしゃる研究者です。日本ラテンアメリカ学会の皆さまにもご関心が高いテーマと存じます。どうぞふるってご参加ください。

日本でも、社会のさまざまな場面で活躍する移民二世が増えてきましたが、進学や就職での格差は今なお厳然として存在します。このシンポジウムでは、エスニシティ・ジェンダー・階層による格差をいかに乗り越えてきたのか、アメリカ合衆国とフランスの例から検討します。さらに移民二世当事者の研究報告をふまえて、日本の将来について議論します。

The Age of the Second-Generation of Migrants: Overcoming Ethnic Inequalities

Although children of migrants in Japan have become increasingly
salient in the world of sport or entertainment, they are still
suffering from ethnic inequalities. How can we narrow the gap in
educational attainment? In this conference, we will first examine how
socio-economic background, ethnic origin, and gender shaped the
educational inequalities in children of migrants, using the cases of
the USA and France. Young researchers of second-generation migrants
address the question based on their fieldwork in Japan.
